Lorain & West Virginia Railway
The Lorain & West Virginia Railway is a 27-mile branch line of the Wheeling & Lake Erie stretching from Wellington to Lorain, OH. Today it is preserved with 6 miles operational. It is home to Nickel Plate Road 384 former W&LE 3984. Built in 1944 by the American Locomotive Company it is a 0-6-0 USRA switcher. Before placement in Oakwood Park, it was given a full overhaul in the Brewster Shops. With enough people, time and money the engine could be returned to operation.
