Return to the Big Four Excursion

On October 30, 2021 I was invited to ride the “City of Chicago,” one of two diner-lounge-sleeper cars owned by the Nickel Plate Road. Today it is privately owned and leased to the Ohio Rail Experience/ Cincinnati Scenic Railway. The Return to the Big Four Excursion was an all-day run along the former Big Four Route Division of the New York Central Railroad between Cincinnati, OH and Greensburg, IN. Preserved and restored Nickel Plate Road GP30 diesels 901 and 902 powered the trip.
